Rain gently falls whenever we say good night.. falling like when you're out of sight... rain follows me even in my bed and rain is the tears that I shed....There'l be no sunshine in my life until you say you're mine oh mine, there'll be no summer, spring or fall each day is like wintertime.. But I can never say I can I know it won't be smart..Somebody owns your heart it can never be mine- Rain sung by Donna Cruz; since it's starting to rain people

P.s. for Read-a-thoners
There's a great read-a-thon that will be happening on November 13th which will be read-a-thon for hunger. The hours that you'll spend reading will be equal to dollar which will be going for the fund to fight against hunger and the registration is open already. Please visit the site http://readathonforhunger.blogspot.com/ for more details,
Hour 24- time elapsed End of Event meme
It's actually my first time to actually participate the read-a-thon coz last April I failed to do so because of a family trip out-of-town. I actually enjoyed it eventhough I was restless due to sleepiness and frustration to finish my tbr books for the read-a-thon.
Books read: 7 out of 10 books
Hours spent reading while tweeting and blogging: 16 hours (already minus my sleeping time coz my body screams sleep, do chores, personal activities)
Pages read all-in-all: 409
Oh yes I definitely did both!
1. Which hour was most daunting for you?
Hour 10 coz it's about 5am here in Manila, am starting to become restless and sleepy.
2.Could you list a few high-interest books that you think could keep a Reader engaged for next year?
Graphic novels would do, picture books and some banned books like In the Night Kitchen by Maurice Sedak.
3. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year?
An integrated chat box or window to the read-a-thon site so we could talk to the participants directly other than tweeting & commenting on blog sites.
4.What do you think worked really well in this year’s Read-a-thon?
The cheering and the enthusiasm of the readers to read on and on!
5. How many books did you read?
7 books mostly easy reading stuff.
6. What were the names of the books you read?
>>In The Night Kitchen by Maurice Sedak- considered a banned book from ALA list but personally this is a good book to start reading with your kids and their adventures and what happens to their dreams.
>>Molly's Surprise by Valerie Tripp- from An American Girl collection; if you're familiar with the doll they made a book series out of the characters from the doll collection. It's about Molly and how the Christmas surprise she knew turned out to be a surprise to her and the McIntire family after all.
7.Which book did you enjoy most?
Actually Molly's Surprise because not only the Christmassy theme and how it struck a chord to me.
8.Which did you enjoy least?
None really!
9. If you were a Cheerleader, do you have any advice for next year’s Cheerleaders?
Keep the energy and the cheering spirit it def helps me to cheer even when restless and tired.
10. How likely are you to participate in the Read-a-thon again? What role would you be likely to take next time?
MOST DEFINITELY WILL PARTICIPATE AGAIN NEXT YEAR, CHEERLEADER & READER!
tasty treat
My mom-in-law just went to my house since she lived quite near to us and swing by to bring me this treat.
It's what we called here in Philippines "Pansit Bihon" since my mom-in-law is a mean cook I loved her cooking of this dish. The other one is menudo. By the way she was a former Home Economics teacher and just retired due to age. If I can see or find a picture, I will share them with you. I am right reading in between 2 books, The Moms Book and a Sesame Street book for easy reading.

Hour 17 and going
Woh time sure flies so fast! I took a break from all the reading since my body is asking for it and now am back. For this time I would like to respond to the mid-event mini challenge (though by this time there maybe winners already) but here goes..
Mid-Event Survey:
1. What are you reading right now? The Moms Book
2. How many books have you read so far? 4
3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon?LIfe After Yes
4. Did you have to make any special arrangements to free up your whole day? no need
5. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?Yes, when I need to cook dinner for me and my husband on our 1st hour and I just need to do it. Also when I started to become restless, I check tweets and blogs for the moment.
6. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far? That there are so many enthusiastic readers out there and cheerleaders too!
7. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year? Hope there'll be a chat window for all the participants so we could go there directly and chat them
8. What would you do differently, as a Reader or a Cheerleader, if you were to do this again next year?As a reader I'll be preparing a good mix of books to devour and as a cheerleader maybe preparing interesting cheers.
9. Are you getting tired yet?oh yes.
10. Do you have any tips for other Readers or Cheerleaders, something you think is working well for you that others may not have discovered?.For cheerleaders just go top of the head cheering and for readers just take a break then resume reading after all we need too sometime to do it.

Read-a-thon
I will be participating in Dewey's annual read-a-thon which is being held twice a year, one in April and one in October. Coincidentally it's John Lennon's 70th birthday today (wherever you are John, may your light and love shine upon us!) and Sean Lennon's birthday (yup his son and a musician too). Actually am kinda anxious now and quite nervous.
So to start I will be reading In the Night Kitchen by Maurice Sedak which is a Caldecott Honor book awardee. By the way, this book is one of the banned books because of seeing the child nude and "alleged sexual innuendo" (with reference to blooey's blog http://sumthinblue.com/banned-books-week/#more-6238).
Go start reading and may I request to be silent for a few minutes wishing and imagining peace for John Lennon and for the world.

We stand on this bea
We stand on this beautiful planet enjoying the sunrise, the sunset, the change of seasons the oceans, the mountains, the clear sky and the lovely towns and cities we've created together We cherish the moment of peace and quiet We cherish the moment of having fun We cherish every moment of warmth and love We laugh, we heal, and we embrace With what we've learnt and experienced With our wisdom and the sense of unity We protect our world from destruction For our hearts beat in unison Even when we fight with one another We breathe for life We'll survive Remember: we are one A big hug and kiss to each one of you I feel privileged to share this time with you Thank you for being in my life at times as teachers, as angels, as friends always as blessings, always with love Without you, I would not be Today is the beginning of our joyful lives Let's dance together in our hearts and play the game of life In love We breathe for life We will survive Remember: we are love Yoko Ono Birthday Thoughts, 2003

Make your own dream.
Make your own dream. That's the Beatles' story, isn't it? That's Yoko's story, that's what I'm saying now. Produce your own dream. If you want to save Peru, go save Peru. It's quite possible to do anything, but not to put it on the leaders and the parking meters. Don't expect Jimmy Carter or Ronald Reagan or John Lennon or Yoko Ono or Bob Dylan or Jesus Christ to come and do it for you. You have to do it yourself. That's what the great masters and mistresses have been saying ever since time began. They can point the way, leave signposts and little instructions in various books that are now called holy and worshipped for the cover of the book and not for what it says, but the instructions are all there for all to see, have always been and always will be. There's nothing new under the sun. All the roads lead to Rome. And people cannot provide it for you. I can't wake you up. You can wake you up. I can't cure you. You can cure you. John Lennon, 1980
