Hour 1 (waayyy late posting)

Whew this is soo late in posting this blog. I was supposed to 23 hours ago but I completely forgot. LOL.
1)Where are you reading from today? Well I read on my couch on my living room, I am here somewhere in the Philippines ;)
2)Three random facts about me… I sooo love the Beatles. I love buying books and of course reading them.  I always want to travel (though now I could do it virtually).
3)How many books do you have in your TBR pile for the next 24 hours?about 2
4)Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, or number of comments on blogs)?well I aim to finish the 2 books but I was able to do it one and a half.
5)If you’re a veteran read-a-thoner, any advice for people doing this for the first time? Plan what you want to read. Make a list and also your energy source (cola, chips, bread, coffee etc.) Plan where are you most comfortable to read and maybe  unintentionally when you doze off. Of course, have fun and make new friends with other read-a-thon-ers too. :D

Mini Challenge for Hour 24

1. Which hour was most daunting for you? Hour 8 it is because it's way past 3 am here on my place and my eyes are soo tired, I dozed off then went back to reading. I might have dozed off for an hour LOL.
2. Could you list a few high-interest books that you think could keep a Reader engaged for next year? You could try children's books that are recognized like the Manbooker awardee In The Night Kitchen. You can also try reading trivia books, for example A Year in High Heels and How to Walk in High Heels which tells facts and trivia that are quite engaging and you can say to yourself that it's good to know. You can also try reading books that you are itching to read like for me Sweet Valley Confidential (it took years after to know what happened to the Wakefield Twins). ;)
3. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year?Well we could utilized more the twitter and facebook page and the site itself or maybe like we could have a group on facebook for Dewey's Read-a-thon and use the group chat there to communicate and check with each other.
4. What do you think worked really well in this year’s Read-a-thon?For starters, I enjoyed the tweet feed :D and for using the facebook page .
5. How many books did you read? 1 and half (because am still reading Love Letters of Great Men till now)
6. What were the names of the books you read? Flirting with Forty and Love Letters of Great Men :)
7. Which book did you enjoy most? well both honestly ;)
8. Which did you enjoy least?none
9. If you were a Cheerleader, do you have any advice for next year’s Cheerleaders?Try to check readers once in a while , come up with engaging cheers even if it's simple.
10. How likely are you to participate in the Read-a-thon again? What role would you be likely to take next time? Of course I will (count me in!) Reader and hopefully a cheerleader again :D

24 Hour Read-a-Thon: Movie Madness Mini Challenge by JD Montague

Alright this could be a toughie hmmmm let me think through.. Alright I got this book in mind I loved this book and the story and the characters..Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella. I always have somewhat a penchant for chicklit and this is a definite chicklit that you would want to see in the movies. It shoudl be directed by Nora Ephron (man she made a great job directing You've Got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle just to name a few). People especially the working girls and the ones in-between-jobs or the ones who wanted to define their life's purpose and meaning. Let's face it Devil wears Prada was a sure hit and having this character of Samantha a workaholic attorney who went to an utter meltdown of her life or well of her career too after having just did the unthinkable that could wreck her chances for a partnership., just stepped out of her London office, ride the tube and landed on a place or town not known to her and .. well several events happened to her that made her rethink her life and what she wanted. Definitely her boo boos would be a laugh trip and her meeting the most charming man would definitely swoon you while watching this movie. DEFINITELY!!
Alright for movie turned into a book .. hmmm.. let's see.. Pretty Woman would definitely do the trick ..a book-worthy. This would tells us the story of Vivian who she is and how she found her "prince charming" in character of Edward, a wealthy businessman whom she met while he was asking for directions and just made a business deal with her. *winks*  I, for one, would definitely buy this book because for starters this would be  a chicklit and for sure people would buy this .. falling in line to buy this once it is release so that they wanted to know more that Vivian, a callgirl, her life and her experiences and how she met Edward who would turn out her love she is looking for. (oohhh I love this part OMG!)
So there read-a-thoners, a piece of my mind about this challenge, hope you'll enjoy this!

24 Hour Read-a-Thon: Character Crush Mini Challenge by JD Montague

I believe my answer for that would be from the book am currently reading , character's name is Kai Carson, a surf instructor based on Hawaii who knows what he wants and contented with his life, knows how to have fun and his incredible charm would sweep you off your feet. Don't get me wrong I love my life now and who I am with but given that I will be in a fictitious world I would love to run away with him. On an online game I am incline with as of the present, I am learning how to surf and of course I would love to go to Hawaii (especially after watching Blue Hawaii). Experience the luau, dance with the hula girls, experience the ultimate sun, sand, surf, water experience with the most incredibly utterly enviable man you could be with plus the fact that he will teach you surf "PERSONALLY" and one-on-one (if you could concentrate with the lessons *giggles*). Of course I would snatch him with me and take him to La Union here in the Philippines for the ultimate surfing experience and go to Boracay for the most memorable stay on the beach and who knows he could not only my fling *winks*.I would definitely take him to Batanes, one of the most utterly serene and beautiful provinces here wherein toi experience the nature there (the beach, the water, the surroundings and more), the people and the culture and of course be with him night and day *winks*. OMG! If I will find a person like him if I am in a fiction book I would definitely run away with him knowing he knows how to treasure and love his girl. *whew*
**character based on the book by Jane Porter (love you girl you rock!!) which is Flirting with Forty
